Why British Products Direct?

The idea

Britain has always made things well. From the hill farms of Teesdale to the factory floors of the Midlands, from Cotswolds workshops to Oxfordshire craftspeople, there is a wealth of genuinely excellent British-made product out there, made by people who care deeply about quality.

The problem is visibility. A small cheese producer, a specialist curtain manufacturer, a rocking horse maker, none of them have the marketing budget of a supermarket or a national retailer. Their products can be difficult to find, and when you do find them, you are often buying through a middleman who takes a significant cut.

British Products Direct exists to change that.

How it works

We are a showcase and directory, not a shop. We do not hold stock, process payments or handle shipping. Instead, we present each maker's products beautifully and link customers directly to the maker's own website, where they can buy direct.

For makers, this means a professional online showcase for a very modest monthly fee, with no commission taken on sales. For buyers, it means knowing you are buying direct from the source, at a fair price, from a verified British business.

Our listings include manufacturers as well as artisans. Whether you are looking for hand-thrown pottery or industrial protective covers, if it is made in Britain, it belongs here.

Our standards

Every business we list is verified as genuinely British-made. We check that products are manufactured or substantially produced in the United Kingdom before any listing goes live. We do not list importers, resellers or businesses whose products are made overseas.

We also ask that every listed business has a working website of their own. Our role is to amplify your online presence, not replace it.
